You may want to step into higher levels of personal and professional success, but find yourself hitting a roadblock of anxiety or stress. Research indicates that approximately 90% of doctor visits are related to some form of stress.
Tapping for Stress
Fortunately EFT Tapping is now in the forefront as one of the most effective ways of calming the flight, fight and freeze response. Research has been done on measuring the physiological markers of health affected by tapping and amongst them we find a distinct drop in cortisol levels, anxiety and depression – and even drops in blood pressure and the symptoms of PTSD.
When you say “I feel stressed”, you’re actually talking about your responses to whatever you perceive is happening in your life. Stress is a normal part of life and is often beneficial but when the physical, mental or emotional responses become too intense then action is required.
All manner of events, situations and our own thinking can cause stress and the symptoms can vary enormously from person to person. Physical symptoms can be an upset digestive system, low energy, headaches, tense muscles, insomnia, chest pains while emotional symptoms can be mood swings, irritability, feeling overwhelmed, depression, anxiety, a low sex drive, loss of effectiveness or motivation, while the mind can be consumed with obsessive thoughts which cause memory and concentration difficulties.
Rather than just dealing with the symptoms, I find uncovering what is causing the stress is what gives long term relief. Oftentimes people are very surprised to discover what is really causing the stress - because it’s not what they thought it was.
Tapping for Anxiety
Anxiety can show itself in many forms including vague uneasiness, heart palpitations, shaking, nausea, and sudden panic. Having suffered anxiety and panic attacks myself I am so grateful for the effectiveness of EFT Tapping for anxiety– both for instant relief during an attack and for therapeutically treating the deeper causes of the anxiety. There are also many other practices that I share which help reduce anxiety. Anxiety can hold you back from living your best life so it’s time to take action to address both the symptoms and the underlying causes.
“I started seeing Margaret when the stress and anxiety caused by my high pressure job was at breaking point. I was constantly depressed, couldn't sleep and was taking regular anti anxiety medication to cope with my severe depression. I felt totally trapped by my circumstances and even had thoughts of hurting myself because I couldn't see another way out.
Seeing Margaret changed my life. In a very short period time (5 sessions over a few short months), I am off the anti-anxiety medication, have found a new job (or perhaps I should say found the confidence to make a change), have learned to create a much healthier work/life balance, feel good about myself again, and perhaps most importantly, now have the tools to efficiently and effectively process the ups and downs that life presents and continue progressing toward the healthy, happy life to which I aspire and deserve.”
EFT Tapping works at a somatic (body) level soothing the stress response in the amygdala, which sits in the midbrain. The amygdala is also the seat of our emotions and our long term memory centre so being able to access it through tapping brings immediate relief on many different levels.
“I keep mentally pinching myself to see if I can get to that same level of anxiety and desperation as I was at when I contacted you. Nothing has changed in my situation since I saw you – but I definitely feel so much better able to cope with it. I am really amazed.”
I’d be very happy to help you too - to not only decrease your symptoms of stress, whether they be mental, emotional or physical, but also to address the underlying causes so you can set yourself free longer term – even if your external circumstances are unable to be changed.
